51-year-old man died this afternoon after a crash on a motorcycle he was riding on Tedder Road near Kenly.
Tony Helms, was test riding a motorcycle , he was repairing it for a friend when he lost control on a curve, ran off the road to the right, struck a ditch and overturned several times, the N.C. State Highway Patrol said.
Helms, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike. He was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.
Light rain was on the roadway when Helms crashed. Speed was a factor, troopers said.
